GA4 setup for content marketing

Optimizing GA4 for Content Marketing Success

As a member of a content marketing team, I recently encountered a unique opportunity to refine our Google Analytics 4 (GA4) setup following its initial implementation—one that didn’t involve our insights or expertise. This has allowed me to leverage our web development resources to tailor the analytics to our specific needs.

Unlike traditional sales-driven companies, we operate primarily in the B2B/SaaS sector and focus on building trust and loyalty, thanks to our short sales cycle. Our primary goal is to track engagement effectively rather than direct sales metrics. Thus, it’s crucial for us to gather actionable data that aligns with this objective.

Additionally, I’m looking to accurately measure our SEO successes. While we utilize Google Search Console, I’ve noticed that the integration isn’t functioning optimally, which is hindering our ability to analyze organic traffic efficiently.

To ensure that we are capturing all relevant data, I would appreciate any recommendations for resources or checklists that could assist our team in optimizing our GA4 setup.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

P.S. I often find myself longing for the familiarity and insight provided by Universal Analytics.
