Surprisingly, it even unearthed conversations from 2023, despite having deleted them nearly a year prior.

It’s important to clarify that this phenomenon isn’t due to local cache or temporary data storage. The references made by ChatGPT stem from its broader understanding and retention mechanisms, not from accessing files on your device. If you assume that local cache is responsible for these references, it’s essential to reassess what local cache means and how it operates within this context.
