Simple Regional Prompting Webapp: My Custom Image Annotation Tool
Introducing Image Annotator: A User-Friendly Web Application for Regional Image Prompting
In the rapidly evolving landscape of AI-generated imagery and image editing, precision and ease of use are paramount. Today, I am excited to share a project I developed—a free, unlimited web application designed to streamline regional prompting within images. Whether you’re a digital artist, researcher, or hobbyist, this tool can enhance your workflow by allowing you to specify exact regions within an image for targeted AI prompts.
What is Image Annotator?
Image Annotator is a web-based platform that enables users to upload images, define specific regions via bounding boxes, and input prompts tailored to those regions. This focused approach allows AI image generators to interpret and execute commands within precise areas, leading to more controlled and refined outputs.
Key Features and Functionality
- Easy Image Upload: Users can upload images seamlessly through browsing, drag-and-drop, or copying and pasting directly into the application.
- Intuitive Region Definition: Create bounding boxes by clicking and dragging on the image, simplifying the process of specifying target areas.
- Regional Prompting: Enter customized prompts within the defined regions to instruct image generation models accordingly.
- Flexible Output Options: Download the edited image or copy it directly to your clipboard for use with other platforms, such as Google Gemini.
How to Use Image Annotator
1. Upload Your Image
Start by uploading your preferred image through one of the three methods—browsing your files, dropping the image into the interface, or pasting it directly.

2. Define Specific Regions
Click and drag over the image to create bounding boxes around areas of interest. This visual cue helps you focus prompts precisely where you want them.

3. Input Your Prompt
Type the desired instruction or description within the selected region to guide the AI’s interpretation and editing process.
