Have you tried ChatGPT’s Canvas? I find it a bit frustrating at times

Understanding the Limitations of ChatGPT’s Canvas Feature

As many users of ChatGPT know, the platform offers an additional tool called Canvas, designed to enhance interactions and provide visual context. However, from my experience, Canvas can sometimes introduce unnecessary complexity and frustration.

While integrating visual elements directly within a chat might seem advantageous, Canvas often feels more like a hurdle than a help. One of the primary challenges is its lack of flexibility: once a Canvas is established, it becomes difficult for the model to “forget” or discard it during ongoing conversations. If I receive an output that doesn’t meet my expectations and decide to edit my message or restart the discussion, the existing Canvas remains embedded, thereby polluting the contextual flow.

This rigidity can hinder smooth communication, especially when quick revisions are needed. If the goal is efficient and flexible dialogue, relying solely on chat without Canvas might often be preferable.

In summary, while Canvas is an innovative feature, its current implementation may not always serve the user’s best interests. For those seeking seamless interactions, it might be worth considering whether the added visual layer truly adds value or simply complicates the conversation.

Would love to hear your thoughts—do you find Canvas helpful, or does it serve as an obstacle in your experience?
