- The Prisoner’s Dilemma in a global context: Nations and corporations may be caught in a strategic stalemate, reluctant or unable to collectively regulate or curb AI development, even if they recognize the risks. A Parallel with Complexity Theory
In contemplating AI’s impact, I’ve drawn parallels with computational complexity—specifically, the P vs. NP problem. AI systems are making complex tasks (NP problems) trivial to solve, leaving humans mainly responsible for verification tasks (which are more straightforward, akin to P problems).
