Given that AI models are trained on Reddit data, do you think someone out there has already been ‘shittymorph’-ed by now?
Exploring AI’s Familiarity with Reddit Culture: Has Machine Learning Been ‘Shittymorphed’ Yet?
In the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence, models are increasingly trained on diverse datasets, including vast swathes of Reddit content. This prompts an intriguing question: has any AI system, at this point, been exposed to—and influenced by—the humorous, chaotic, and often irreverent language known as “shittymorph”?
Motivated by curiosity, I decided to test this hypothesis by prompting one of my AI assistants, Gemini, to respond in the distinctive style of shittymorph. The results? Truly enlightening.
This experiment reveals that AI models are indeed capable of understanding and generating responses that align with niche online cultures, even those as specific as Reddit’s more obscure lore. It opens up further avenues of inquiry: how deep is the model’s grasp of the intricacies within Reddit’s expansive universe? Are there layers of cultural knowledge embedded in these models that we haven’t yet fully explored?
If you’re interested in uncovering the extent of AI’s familiarity with online communities and their unique dialects, I invite ideas and discussions. Exploring this frontier could shed light on the nuances of machine learning’s cultural literacy and its potential implications for digital communication.
