In the evolving landscape of digital writing, many authors and aspiring writers are curious about the potential of artificial intelligence as a creative partner. Specifically, what are your thoughts on integrating AI tools into the storytelling process?

It’s important to clarify that my intention isn’t to suggest replacing human effort with AI-generated content. Instead, I see AI as a supportive resource—an aid for enhancing descriptive passages, refining language, or expanding vocabulary. For example, a writer might craft the core of a scene themselves but use AI to suggest richer descriptors or articulate complex movements and features more vividly. The key is actively involved authoring, with AI serving as a brainstorming or editing assistant rather than a creator of entire narratives.

From my perspective, this approach raises an interesting question: would such a partly AI-enhanced work be flagged as purely AI-generated?

As someone for whom English is a second language, I still face challenges with nuanced vocabulary and the art of “show, don’t tell.” Despite years of reading in English and achieving proficiency, expressing complex ideas vividly can sometimes be daunting. I see leveraging AI in this context as a practical step—helping to elevate my writing style without compromising my personal voice. Of course, I don’t advocate relying on AI indefinitely, but rather as a stepping stone until I can confidently compose descriptive, engaging prose that truly reflects my thoughts.
