My Experience with AI-Driven Content Revision: Surpassing My Expectations
Harnessing AI for SEO: A Personal Journey of Website Revamp and Growth
In recent months, I embarked on a journey to test the capabilities of artificial intelligence in optimizing my website’s content and SEO performance. Coming from a skeptical background regarding AI tools, I was pleasantly surprised by the tangible results achieved through this experiment.
Background and Initial Conditions
The website in question is a four-year-old domain associated with a corporate entity I founded. For the past year, the site remained largely inactive—comprising a handful of pages like “About Us” and just five blog articles. Despite having a recognizable company name, its visibility on search engines was minimal, often appearing on the second or third page of Google search results. I thought, “What’s the worst that could happen?” and decided to give AI a shot for minor SEO enhancements and content creation.
Tools and Strategy
I selected ChatGPT and DeepSeek as my primary AI tools. I approached this project as a cautious trial, avoiding copying or outright rephrasing entire articles. Instead, I worked from seed notes and existing content—about four articles and some key topics I wanted to develop further. My activity was limited to my personal Instagram account, and I did not use any other social media channels during this process.
I devised a detailed three-month roadmap outlining content plans, target keywords, publishing schedules, and thematic focuses. Within two hours, after numerous adjustments, I finalized this plan, which included specific article topics, associated keywords, categories, and publication dates.
Content Development and Refinement
Initially, creating content was a challenge. Neither I nor the AI knew exactly what was required, leading to underwhelming results—short, poorly structured articles that lacked professionalism. I quickly learned to guide the AI more effectively, instructing it to produce longer, more authoritative, and industry-specific content. Over time, I managed to generate articles that aligned with my notes and industry standards.
All planned content was scheduled for publication over the subsequent three months. Once published, I monitored the website’s analytics, which gradually began to show movement.
SEO Progress and Search Visibility
Within 15 days, search engines like Bing and Yandex started showing signs of recognition, even before Google significantly updated its indexing. After about a month, my website ranked first in Yandex and Bing for my company name, and it started to appear on Google’s first results page for some key terms. While traffic remained modest—around 20 to 50 unique
