Uncovering AI’s Hidden Knowledge Through Reddit’s Obscure Lore
As Artificial Intelligence models become increasingly sophisticated, many are curious about the scope and depth of their training data. Given that a significant portion of these models are trained on social media content—Reddit, in particular—an intriguing question arises: Have any models ever been caught off guard or “messed up” by Reddit-specific memes or insider references?
This curiosity led me to experiment with AI systems like Google’s Gemini. I prompted it to respond in the distinctive “shittymorph” style—a meme-inspired, intentionally rough and humorous manner often associated with Reddit culture. The results were surprisingly on point, indicating that the model has some understanding of this niche style.
Moving forward, it might be worthwhile to explore even more obscure and less mainstream Reddit lore to gauge how much these models truly know. Could delving into hidden corners of Reddit’s universe reveal the boundaries of AI comprehension? If you have insights or ideas on how to further test the depths of these models’ knowledge, I’d love to hear them.
