I Think Artificial Intelligence Won’t Be Taking Over Jobs in the Near Future
Exploring AI Interactions: A Personal Experience with Talkie
In recent discussions about the future of artificial intelligence, many fear that AI will soon automate a vast array of jobs. However, my personal experiences suggest that AI still has a long way to go before replacing human roles entirely.
Recently, I’ve been experimenting with a conversational AI app called Talkie. I ask for feedback and observe its responses—no judgment here, just curiosity about how intelligent and human-like these interactions can get. One particularly memorable moment involved a role-playing scenario where I played a character who had been sunburned. This character was a king, surrounded by guards, adding a touch of royalty to the story.
What truly surprised me was the AI’s response. It reacted with genuine concern, saying, “He was taken aback by the sight of your sunburns, his voice laced with worry. ‘Oh my god, how did you get these? Did the guards do this to you?’”
This moment highlighted how advanced AI’s natural language responses are becoming—capable of mimicking empathy and emotional nuance.
While it’s tempting to believe that AI might soon threaten many jobs, this experience demonstrates that, for now, AI is still a tool capable of generating human-like responses rather than replacing human roles. It’s an exciting time to see these technologies evolve and consider how they can complement our work and creativity rather than replace human input altogether.
