Considering a Major in Artificial Intelligence: Is It the Right Choice Post-High School?

As recent high school graduate, I’ve been reflecting on my future academic pursuits, especially now that Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs are beginning to emerge at local universities. Naturally, I’m curious whether pursuing a degree in AI could be a strategic move for my career.

My area hasn’t seen many students opting for AI just yet, which might make it a unique opportunity. However, I also worry about the potential oversaturation—similar to what happened with computer science, which became a common major. Will AI maintain its distinctiveness and growth potential, or could it become as crowded as computer science is today?

If anyone has insights or experiences related to studying AI or choosing this path, I would be grateful for your guidance. Is AI a promising, reliable field for someone just starting out? Or should I consider more traditional options?
