App not updating to latest model and asking me to subscribe to advance (I already did)
Troubleshooting Issues with Chat Application: Subscription and Model Update Woes
Have you ever faced a situation where an app suddenly stops functioning as expected? This was my experience recently with a popular chat application. I woke up to find that a pinned conversation I had been actively engaged in was inaccessible. An error message appeared, stating: “This conversation was created with Gemini Advance. Please subscribe to Gemini Advanced on the web to continue this conversation.”
The irony? I am already a subscriber. Furthermore, I can seamlessly access the latest model, Pro 2.5, through the web portal. However, the app I rely on still showcases the outdated Pro 1.5 version.
In an effort to resolve this frustrating situation, I attempted a couple of standard troubleshooting steps. I reinstalled the app and logged out only to log back in, hoping for a magical fix. Unfortunately, nothing changed.
The most exasperating aspect of this experience has been the necessity to painstakingly copy my conversation piece by piece into a new chat. This feels especially cumbersome when trying to maintain context for the algorithm to generate relevant responses.
If the application is known for bugs and issues like these, it would be immensely beneficial to incorporate a feature that allows users to easily import conversations into new chats. This would provide a smoother experience and save users a significant amount of time.
In conclusion, while I appreciate the capabilities of this chat application, it’s clear that improvements are needed, particularly in how it handles subscriptions and version updates. Here’s hoping for a fix soon so I can get back to smooth and uninterrupted conversations!
