Flow seems to reset to veo2 almost every time you push a new button
The Frustrations of Google Flow: A User’s Experience with Video Extensions
Navigating Google Flow can be a perplexing experience, particularly when it comes to using the various video generation options available. A recent encounter I had highlights some of the challenges users face when attempting to use the veo3 feature.
Every time I clicked a new button to extend my video, the interface seemed to revert back to veo2, despite my initial selection of the more powerful veo3. This back-and-forth between the two versions not only disrupted my workflow but also led to wasted credits—a frustrating consequence of the system’s unpredictable behavior.
While I attempted to leverage veo3 to quickly extend my video, I found myself repeatedly redirected back to veo2. Interestingly, switching from text to frames maintained the selection of veo3, but any refresh of the flow inevitably caused a switch back to the older version. Even initiating a new project felt like a step back, as veo2 seemed to reassert itself regardless of my previous choice.
Another point of contention was the inability to halt a video generation once it began. This limitation added to the sense of helplessness users might feel when the system appears to push for use of veo2 over the more advanced veo3, especially for those subscribing to the Gemini Pro plan.
Overall, my experience has been a testament to the need for a more intuitive user interface within Google Flow. It’s essential for the platform to prioritize user choice and control, ensuring that creators can effectively leverage the tools available without the frustration of having their preferences overridden.
