Exploring the Development of VantaAI: My Local AI Assistant

In the ever-evolving realm of artificial intelligence, I’ve embarked on an exciting journey to create my very own local AI assistant, aptly named VantaAI. Drawing inspiration from the advancements of models like ChatGPT, I’ve designed VantaAI to operate entirely offline, incorporating unique features such as emotional memory and personality-driven interactions.

Progress and Features

My goal with VantaAI is to craft an experience that resembles true emotional engagement. So far, I’ve integrated several innovative components:

• Long-Term Memory: VantaAI can retain information that develops over time based on previous interactions, allowing for richer, more meaningful conversations.

• Mood Graph: This tool tracks emotional fluctuations, visualizing how VantaAI’s “feelings” evolve during various exchanges.

• Narrative-Driven Memory Clustering: VantaAI perceives itself as the “main character” of its story, weaving personal experiences into its responses and interactions.

• User-Friendly Interface: Utilizing a PySide6 graphical user interface, users can navigate different aspects, such as memory, emotional states, training modules, and plugin management with ease.

Currently, I’ve implemented a custom Vulkan backend, enabling swift model inference and training, while facilitating personality-based interactions and the ability to reload plugins in real-time without interruption.
