Version 183: How to Brainstorm and Strategize When GPT’s Cognitive Function Is Compromised

Navigating the Challenges of AI-Supported Planning: A Reflection on GPT’s Evolution

As someone who has relied on AI tools for brainstorming and planning, I’ve noticed a significant shift in how these systems, particularly GPT, function now compared to previous versions. Initially, I found GPT-4 to be an invaluable asset, especially when it came to refining ideas and streamlining my business documents. However, my recent experiences with the newer GPT version have left me feeling somewhat frustrated and perplexed.

The evolution of AI should ideally bring improvements, yet lately, I’ve encountered a series of challenges that have impacted my workflow. Here’s a breakdown of my observations:

  1. Inaccuracy in Responses: The new version sometimes goes astray, generating content that feels off-base or only partially addressing my requests. This has led to inefficiencies in the creative process.

  2. Acknowledgment of Mistakes: Upon pointing out errors, the AI often accepts the critique, saying “you’re right!” However, this acknowledgment doesn’t always result in meaningful corrections in subsequent outputs.

  3. Persistent Challenges: Despite recognizing its previous errors, the AI seems to stumble again, sometimes fabricating reasons for its mistakes, which can be frustrating during important project developments.

  4. Relying Heavily on User Initiative: There are moments when it appears as though the tool is nudging me towards doing much of the brainstorming myself, suggesting alternative resources instead of providing the guidance I initially sought.

In the past, GPT-4 was a powerful collaborator, helping me condense ideas and enhance clarity in my business documents. However, these recent developments have made me reassess how I use AI for my projects. It’s essential to adapt and find new ways to harness these technologies effectively, even as they evolve in ways we might not expect.

As I move forward, I’m considering how to combine AI capabilities with my own creativity more effectively, ensuring that I continue to innovate while navigating these new challenges. It’s a learning curve, but one I’m determined to master.
