If misused, AI could facilitate rapid and widespread damage, but it does not possess its own desires or capacity for harm—those are human traits. The real existential threat we face is rooted in human nature: our willingness to repeat destructive patterns, to prioritize short-term gains over long-term sustainability, and to exploit technological advancements without regard for greater good.

Ultimately, AI’s power lies in what we choose to do with it. Recognizing that the core danger stems from human decisions, not the technology itself, is essential in guiding our development and use of artificial intelligence.
