A few months ago, I began using AI-powered applications such as ChatGPT to help organize my notes, prioritize tasks, draft follow-up messages, and create daily plans. This approach allowed me to streamline my workload, reduce missed deadlines, and eliminate the feeling of constantly falling behind. The results were quite positive—better organization, timely submissions, and a noticeable decrease in stress.
However, my experience took an unexpected turn when my supervisor—which, admittedly, is somewhat resistant to AI adoption—became aware of my new methods. He expressed concerns, implying that relying on AI might be seen as cutting corners or making the team appear less capable. He told me that “real work takes time,” and questioned whether I was providing genuine value.
This has created an awkward atmosphere at work. It feels as if my efficiency is being misinterpreted as shortcuts or lack of effort, simply because I don’t appear visibly stressed or overwhelmed. I believe I am not outsourcing my responsibilities but rather leveraging technology to work smarter. Isn’t that the essence of innovation and productivity enhancement?
