• Economic Stability at Risk: Post-World War II economic systems depend heavily on employment-driven consumer spending. If AI-induced job losses are not countered with effective measures, there’s a risk of systemic collapse.

• The Prisoner’s Dilemma of Humanity: This situation mirrors a multi-party prisoner’s dilemma—once AI begins to dominate crucial sectors, collective action to prevent negative outcomes becomes incredibly challenging, even if stakeholders recognize the risks.

A Complex Problem-Solving Analogy

I’ve drawn parallels between this theory and computational complexity classes—specifically P vs. NP. AI’s ability to make complex problems (NP problems) trivial to solve essentially shifts most reliance towards verification (P). Humans would then mainly focus on checking or validating AI outputs, a task that could be simplified or delegated to machines. This creates an elite verification class that holds considerable power—serving as gatekeepers or legal shields.
