An Analogy from Complexity Theory

AI advances are making the resolution of complex problems (NP problems) trivial, leaving human effort primarily to verification—either through human judgment or machine-based checks. This leaves a small, elite class of verifiers who possess the authority or capability to validate AI outputs, functioning as legal and ethical guardians.
