I’ve been using AI for revising my website’s content, and results are better than I expected.

Harnessing AI for Website Optimization: A Personal Journey Towards Improved SEO

As a website owner, I’ve always been naturally skeptical about the true capabilities of Artificial Intelligence in Digital Marketing. However, after several months of experimenting with AI-driven content optimization and SEO tweaks, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the results.

Getting Started with AI Tools

My website is a four-year-old domain, though it’s been inactive for most of that time. It’s a simple WordPress site representing a corporate venture I founded, with minimal content—mostly an “About Us” page, a handful of blog articles, and just basic visibility on Google. Previously, it ranked on the second or third pages for the company name, showing how dormant it was.

Deciding to test the potential of AI for SEO improvements, I selected tools like ChatGPT and DeepSeek. My approach was purely experimental; I refrained from copying and pasting entire articles or engaging in mass content spamming. Instead, I used my notes and existing draft articles as seed content, guiding the AI to generate targeted text aligned with my industry standards. Social media promotion was off the table—I relied solely on organic strategies and the AI’s capabilities.

Creating a Strategic Roadmap

I devised a simple three-month plan focusing on content publication, keyword targeting, and topic development. Within a couple of hours, I refined this plan, adjusting the publishing schedule and aligning keywords with relevant categories. I created a detailed content calendar outlining topics, target keywords, categories, and scheduled dates, which served as a roadmap moving forward.

Content Development Challenges and Lessons Learned

Initially, my AI-generated content was inconsistent. The first drafts were often brief and unprofessional, reflecting a lack of clear instructions. I learned to instruct the AI with precise prompts—asking it to produce longer, more comprehensive articles with a professional tone aligned with my industry standards. Over a week, I amassed a complete set of articles ensuring they adhered to my notes and were scheduled for publication over the following three months.

Monitoring Progress and Search Engine Performance

I monitored the website’s performance through webmaster tools and analytics. Within just 15 days, the site began indexing on search engines, with notable movement in Bing and Yandex rankings for my company name. By the 30-day mark, it ranked first in both Bing and Yandex for the company name and appeared on the first page of Google search results—an encouraging start for a site with no backlinks, ads, or aggressive promotion.
