My Experience with AI-Assisted Content Revision for My Website: Surpassing Expectations

Harnessing AI for SEO and Content Optimization: A Personal Journey with WordPress

In recent months, I embarked on an experiment to enhance my company’s website using artificial intelligence tools. Initially skeptical about AI’s genuine value beyond basic content rewriting, I decided to give it a try specifically for SEO refinement and content development. The results surpassed my expectations, providing valuable insights into how AI can support website growth even without extensive backlinks or advertising.

Background and Setting the Stage

My website is a relatively dormant asset—an approximately four-year-old domain that has been active for just over a year. Built on WordPress, it represents a corporate venture I established, but it had minimal content: only a handful of pages like “About Us” and a modest five blog articles. Despite efforts, the site struggled to rank prominently on Google, typically appearing on the second or third pages, even when searching for the company’s name.

With this context, I opted to test AI-driven optimization. Importantly, I didn’t merely copy and paste existing articles into AI tools like ChatGPT and DeepSeek. Instead, I used my notes, pre-written content, and planned topics as seed inputs to generate SEO-friendly content aligned with my vision. My approach was low-key—relying solely on my Instagram account for updates, avoiding social media promotions during this experiment.

Strategic Planning and Content Deployment

My initial plan involved creating a three-month roadmap. This roadmap specified the number of articles to publish, targeted keywords, and content themes. I spent a couple of hours fine-tuning this plan, adjusting topics and publishing schedules to ensure a steady flow of relevant content. I detailed each piece with associated keywords, categorization, and publication dates, ensuring a structured approach.

Content Creation Challenges and Solutions

Early on, I encountered the typical hurdles with AI-generated content. Initial outputs were short, unpolished, and lacked professionalism—often far from the 3,000+ words I aimed for. This was expected; AI tools need guidance. I learned how to instruct them to produce longer, more cohesive articles that resonated with a corporate tone and SEO best practices. Over time, I achieved a collection of articles that adhered to my notes and were scheduled for publication throughout the planned timeframe.

Monitoring and Results

Once the articles were live, I began tracking their indexing status and search rankings via webmaster tools and analytics. Within the first two weeks, the website started appearing in search engine indexes, with noticeable movement on Bing and Yandex.
