These calamities are the result of human choices and actions, not the actions of AI.

Artificial intelligence does not cause climate change, nor does it promote conflict or ecological collapse. These are outcomes driven by human priorities, economic systems, and geopolitical ambitions. AI, for all its capabilities, is simply a tool—one that amplifies existing tendencies rather than creates new ones.

The notion that AI will independently annihilate humanity is a myth. The real danger lies in how humans may leverage these powerful technologies—potentially exacerbating conflicts, environmental harm, and societal inequalities. We have already demonstrated a capacity for self-destruction; AI may simply serve as a rapid accelerator for these tendencies if misused.

Ultimately, the chief existential risk isn’t embedded in the technology itself, but in human nature’s propensity for conflict and exploitation.
