Harnessing AI for Website Content Overhaul: Surpassing My Expectations
Transforming a Dormant Website: My Experience with AI Content Creation for SEO
As a founder of a corporate website that had essentially remained dormant for a year, I was initially hesitant to embrace artificial intelligence for content creation and SEO enhancements. However, driven by curiosity and the desire to improve my site’s visibility, I decided to give AI a shot.
A Fresh Approach to a Forgotten Domain
My website, a four-year-old domain with minimal content, consisted mainly of basic pages like “About Us” and just five blog posts. Despite its age, the site barely scratched the surface of Google’s search results, often ranking on the 2nd or 3rd pages. With nothing to lose, I decided to explore AI tools, specifically ChatGPT and DeepSeek, to breathe new life into my content.
I approached this endeavor as a challenge. I didn’t simply replicate existing articles; instead, I started with my own notes and ideas for four pre-written articles. I treated it as an experimental project, disregarding social media promotion initially, but utilizing my modest Instagram presence.
Crafting an Original Roadmap
I created a three-month roadmap to guide my content strategy. It outlined the number of articles to publish, targeted keywords, and content topics. After a few hours of adjustments, I had a detailed plan compartmentalizing topics, keywords, categories, and publication timelines.
The initial content creation process was chaotic. Both the AI tools and I struggled to clarify my vision. When I requested lengthy articles, I often received shorter, less formal pieces. However, I quickly adapted my prompts to yield more comprehensive and professional outputs. By the end of that week, I had a series of articles ready for publication based on my initial notes, all scheduled according to my timeline.
Monitoring the Results
I began monitoring analytics through major webmaster tools. Within 15 days, my website was being indexed, showing initial movement on search engines like Yandex and Bing. In just a month, my site not only secured the top spot for my business name on these platforms but also began attracting visibility for long-tail and LSI keywords.
To put this in perspective, I progressed from the 5th to 10th page of Google to now appearing within the first three pages of search results for various terms. Fascinatingly, a slight dip occurred in the second month, where rankings temporarily dropped, but they rebounded stronger than before, leading to better visibility across various searches.
