Developing My Own AI Assistant: Progress with VantaAI
Hello, fellow technology enthusiasts! I’m excited to share my journey of creating a local artificial intelligence assistant that incorporates memory capabilities and emotional logic. The name of my project is VantaAI, and the goal is to develop a fully offline solution that can thoughtfully mimic human-like emotional responses and personal identity.
Key Features of VantaAI
I’ve been diligently working on several unique features to bring VantaAI to life, including:
-
Evolving Long-Term Memory: The assistant can retain and build upon memories based on conversation contexts, allowing it to respond more meaningfully over time.
-
Mood Tracking Graph: A visual representation of VantaAI’s emotional fluctuations enables users to see how its mood changes throughout interactions.
-
Narrative-Driven Memory Clustering: VantaAI perceives itself as the protagonist in its own narrative, organizing memories in a way that adds depth to its identity.
-
User Interface: I’ve developed a functional GUI using PySide6, complete with tabs for memory management, training protocols, emotional states, and plugin controls.
At present, I’ve implemented a custom Vulkan backend that facilitates rapid model inference and training. This architecture allows VantaAI to deliver personality-driven responses and supports live hot-reloading for plugins.
Seeking Feedback and Ideas
I want to emphasize that this project is strictly a personal endeavor—I’m not looking to market a product or service. Instead, I’m eager to connect with others who share a passion for AI development. If you’re working on similar projects or have suggestions for features that could enhance VantaAI, I would love to hear your thoughts!
Feel free to ask any questions or share your insights. Let’s foster a collaborative dialogue about building the future of artificial intelligence together!
