Developing a Personal AI Assistant with Memory and Emotional Understanding: Progress Update and Feedback Request

Building a Local AI Assistant: Progress on VantaAI

In my latest project, I’ve embarked on an exciting journey to develop my own local AI assistant, VantaAI. Drawing inspiration from advanced models like ChatGPT, I am focusing on creating a system that operates entirely offline, with unique features such as emotional memory and mood dynamics.

Key Features of VantaAI

As I continue to advance VantaAI, I’ve integrated a range of innovative functionalities:

  1. Evolving Long-Term Memory: The assistant’s memory is designed to grow and adapt based on the context of conversations, allowing for a more personalized interaction over time.

  2. Mood Tracking: A comprehensive mood graph has been established to monitor the assistant’s emotional fluctuations, providing insights into its emotional landscape.

  3. Narrative Memory Clustering: VantaAI perceives itself as the protagonist in its own narrative, organizing memories in a way that enhances its storytelling capabilities.

  4. User-Friendly Interface: Utilizing a PySide6 GUI, the design includes various tabs dedicated to memory management, training processes, emotional states, and plugin administration.

  5. Advanced Backend Technology: Currently, the assistant operates with a custom Vulkan backend, ensuring accelerated model inference and training capabilities. It also features personality-driven responses and live plugin hot-reloading for seamless updates.

Seeking Collaboration and Feedback

At this stage, I am not focusing on commercializing this project or promoting any products. Instead, I am keen to connect with others who share an interest in AI development. If you’re exploring similar ideas or have insights on features that could enhance VantaAI, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Feel free to reach out with any questions or comments. I look forward to engaging with fellow AI enthusiasts as I continue this journey.
