Enhancing Website Content with AI: A Personal Journey

In the ever-evolving landscape of digital marketing, many business owners find themselves skeptical about the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. I too belonged to this camp until I decided to give AI a chance in optimizing my website’s content for SEO. What transpired over a few months has exceeded my expectations, and I would like to share my experience with you.

Exploring a New Avenue

My website, which has been live for just over a year, was a humble corporate blog associated with my business. Though it had been established for four years, it remained relatively dormant, featuring only basic information like an “About Us” page and five short blog posts. Despite searching for my company name, I struggled to appear higher than the second or third page of Google results. With little to lose, I ventured into AI-assisted SEO to refresh my site’s content and boost its visibility.

For this experiment, I utilized ChatGPT and DeepSeek. I did not rely on them to rewrite existing articles; rather, I used my notes as a foundation for creating fresh content. With a couple of articles already written and a list of topics I wanted to explore, I was ready to see what AI could contribute without involving social media promotion at this early stage.

Crafting an Action Plan

I set a clear three-month strategy that detailed the number of articles I aimed to publish, targeted keywords, and the topics for content creation. After initial adjustments, I established a roadmap that outlined various content pieces along with their accompanying keywords and publishing schedules.

The early stages of content creation proved challenging. Initially, neither I nor the AI fully grasped my expectations. I quickly learned that simply requesting a 3,000-word article did not guarantee quality; the outputs were often brief and lacked a professional tone. Over time, however, I discovered how to guide the AI more effectively. By refining my prompts, I managed to generate articles that resonated with my industry’s standards and reflected my voice.

Tracking Progress and Results

After just 15 days, I noticed that my website began to be indexed, leading to modest visibility changes, particularly on Yandex and Bing. Within a month, my site claimed the number one ranking for my company name on those platforms and began showing up on Google’s first page. This initial success translated into small traffic gains through LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) and long-tail keywords—minimal yet promising indicators of progress
