Navigating Uncharted Waters: Anticipated Industry Shifts and My Personal Doubts About What’s Ahead

Navigating the Future of eCommerce: A Personal Reflection

As I stand at the intersection of change and uncertainty, I cannot help but reflect on my journey in the eCommerce industry—a path I’ve been traversing for nearly two decades. At 30 years old, I’ve dedicated myself to this space since the age of 14, progressively climbing the ranks from a sales position to my current role as Director of Partnerships at my agency. My experience has encompassed diverse roles, including Director of Project Management (PM) and Director of Operations, where I’ve been deeply involved in web development, design initiatives, and substantial SEO and eCommerce marketing campaigns.

AI technologies are already capable of constructing entire websites from Figma designs or even preliminary sketches. I have witnessed instances where AI generates precise code to implement upsell features without the need for developers. Additionally, the emergence of AI-driven solutions is changing the landscape of traditional SEO almost in real time.

As I contemplate the next five years, I find myself at a crossroads. The automation of our field raises important questions about my future and the direction of my career. As I pursue my Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, I am exploring the possibility of transitioning back to a Head of PM or Senior PM role, albeit in a completely
