Concerns Over a Recent Update: Chat History Disappears in Gemini

Have you recently noticed that all your chat history seems to have vanished in Gemini? You’re not alone. As a user of the workspace plan, I rely heavily on the conversational history feature, which, according to the admin settings, should be enabled. However, it appears that a recent update may have disrupted this functionality, resulting in the loss of my entire chat history.

Upon investigating the matter, I found that Gemini Apps Activity is currently deactivated, which impacts crucial features like pinned and recent chats, as well as certain extensions. Interestingly, even though disabling Gemini Apps Activity shouldn’t erase past data, it feels as if everything has simply disappeared.

When I attempted to reactivate Gemini Apps Activity, I encountered an issue where the option was unavailable, leaving me puzzled and frustrated. Here’s a link to my activity settings, where you can see the current status, but unfortunately, I am unable to make any changes.
