I hated Sponsored Google Results. So I built an AI Search Engine using only crowdsourced opinions from Reddit, YT and TikTok

Revolutionizing Search: My Journey to an AI-Powered, Crowd-Sourced Search Engine

At the beginning of this year, I embarked on a quest driven by a straightforward yet crucial question: Why has it become so challenging to find authentic recommendations online?

In my pursuit of answers, I was consistently confronted with an overwhelming influx of sponsored search results and clearly biased affiliate websites. Rather than aiding my decision-making process, they left me more bewildered and uncertain.

Upon further investigation, I discovered a concerning reality. A mere 16 major publishing companies monopolize search results, compromising user benefit for their financial gain. Astonishingly, a study examining 10,000 diverse searches revealed that these companies dominated the top rankings in 85% of them, a statistic that troubled me deeply.

This led me to question: Why should only a handful of corporations dictate the information we access when genuine experiences from real individuals are what we truly seek?

During this time of exploration, I turned to Reddit and unearthed a wealth of practical insights sourced from everyday users. However, the abundance of content presented a challenge: identifying the consensus was like searching for a needle in a haystack.

Motivated by the need for a solution, I decided to create one. I developed a prototype known as LynkSearch.com, designed to bypass the noise of SEO and affiliate-driven content. By leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), LynkSearch extracts crowd-sourced recommendations from popular platforms like Reddit, YouTube, and TikTok.

My mission is clear: to democratize the discovery of information and restore the internet to its original vision—a platform powered by people.

I would love to hear your thoughts on how I can refine this tool further. Thank you for taking the time to explore my journey!
